Of Wander and Wild

I've been away from the ocean for far too long now that my feet are craving the shorelines.

Instead,
I find myself grabbing hold of the dry earth with my toes.

Wandering through an oasis of beauty, smelling orchids, photographing clay stepping stones & getting lost on a wave of music notes from the songs coming from the palms.

I grow wild out here.
Untouched.
My heart soars.

I'm there,
still,
listening.

As I bite into a mango, the juices run down my thumb
then to my wrist
at the time, I was distracted
the sun
perfectly aligned with a milky-face, rosy cheeked hibiscus.

Beads of the early showers still lingered on its' delicate petals

Transparent

almost.

When your heart is bound to nature, there is a sense of wholeness that fills your being.

For a moment, close your eyes, imagine driving down a blossomed path to a beautiful cotton candy pink cottage with wooden shutters, tucked away between flowering trees. A table dressed in orchids and succulents and acres of nurtured forest. Your own secret botanic gardens.

The wind bellowing through the palms imitates a stream of spring water as the bees hum along the Lilac Queen's wreath. In that moment, in pure silence, a total sense of bliss.

Barefoot, earthed to the pastured carpet, feel the blades of grass dance between the webs of your toes. Tickling, almost. The sunlight beam on your face - glowing.... you are alive. You are here, in this moment.

Breathing in the fresh dew drop morning aura.
Feeling the wind shimmy at the trestles that dangled from your topknot.
Listening to the songbirds cozied above.
Seeing untouched nature in it's raw glory.

Your soul in complete gratitude.
This.
All of this.

There is magic.
Magic is everywhere if you just look.

It was that one day, where we took a 2 hour drive to Pozo Azul to ride horses and go rafting. The sun was shining so bright in the morning as we made our way through pastures and streams. My shoulders scorched from the midday sun, leaving now, thin skin peeling away.

Most of our days were spent exploring San Jose by foot. Wandering through the craft markets and closed off streets, to finding tucked away cafe's and buying Turmeric from sidewalk vendors.

We didn't venture to any beaches and my desire for cuddling a sloth became non-existent as all the sanctuaries were hours away and the only sloth I did see was asleep. Every pulse in my heart, sighed, each time.

One night I got food poisoning... it was a complete shocker for me as I have never in my 35 years experienced such an awful reaction to food. I lay in a panic as my body trembled. The remaining of my days I lived off of cereal, french fries & Turmeric tea.

With the one bad day, came many great days.

Catching an Orchestra in a park.
Getting to try tight rope walking - which is in truth, incredibly hard !
And Ziplining above the rainforest.

Sharing memories in images from my week in Costa Rica.
